Welcome to new commercial tenant, Laura Fisher

An award-winning luxury homewares and fragrance brand has moved into The Manydown Rural Estate’s refurbished premises at Scrapps Hill Farm - incorporating a smart tearoom as part of the large store.

The Estate is pleased to welcome Laura Fisher, Luxury Homeware & Home Fragrance and The Parlour Teabarn to the former Cobbs Farm Shop on Worting Road, near Basingstoke.

Laura, who launched her business in 2019, has moved from a smaller shop in Basingstoke to the 2,500 square foot premises, which have been tastefully refurbished with the support of the Manydown Rural Estate.

The new store and tearoom were officially unveiled at a launch party for 200 guests on Saturday (April 12). And it’s a real family collaboration with Laura’s mother Sharon and sister Lucy running the Teabarn in the former milking parlour at Scrapps Hill.

The space has been beautifully refurbished, combining a countryside ambiance with a rustic twist. Laura said: “It’s been such a great project - turning the former farm shop into a true dream destination of ours. We’ve been incredibly grateful for the support from The Manydown Rural Estate and our amazing customer base throughout the journey.

We’re now really looking forward to sharing this new space as we gear up to propel the business forward with our growth strategy - taking the products we design and make right here on the estate to an even wider audience.

It’s also been wonderful to see the Teabarn so warmly supported by both familiar faces and new customers alike - those who share a love for home baking and for supporting a family-run business.”

Manydown Rural Estate Director David Neal-Smith said: “It is great to see a growing business occupy this prime site, giving a new lease of life to an otherwise unused building. The combination of Laura’s homewares and home fragrance business with the Teabarn is a great match and we are confident both will thrive here.”

Laura Fisher runs candle-making and fragrance workshops in the store as well as selling a wide range of homewares, candles and other fragrance products. The Scrapps Hill store is a second location for the Parlour Teabarn which has another branch in central Basingstoke.

The Worting Road site was last occupied by Cobbs farm shop until its closure almost two years ago. The Estate has obtained planning permission for a new farm shop site at Woodgarston Farm, Wootton St Lawrence, where Cobbs is to create a store and café.

The Manydown Rural Estate also has office space to let at Whitedown, near Wootton St Lawrence just two miles from Basingstoke. Click here for details.
